Additional Plays Metallica by Four Cellos Information

Take four cellos, mix with a quartet of Finnish classical-music students who possess a note-for-note knowledge of metal giants Metallica, and beat gently. Viola! You have a truly stirring album that provides tangible evidence of the dramatic passages and intricate arrangements that classical music and heavy metal share. On "Enter Sandman" and "Creeping Death," the exquisite playing of the cellists intensifies the darkness and emotion of Metallica. In the process the strength and versatility of the group's songwriting is given more credence. Perhaps the most remarkable element of the album is the faithfulness that's shown to the original songs, right down to faultlessly following the vocal melodies. With Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, Apocalyptica have proved that the universal language of good music is unbound by genre. Here is a clever concept brilliantly realized. --Steffan Chirazi

What Customers Say About Plays Metallica by Four Cellos:

I really loved the original version, but I think this is the best version of the song I've heard and I now like this version better than the Metallica original. Metallica have since played this song with a symphony and that version was good but this version is even better. At the beginning of the Enter Sandman, your first reaction may be one of "wow. The first track explains to you how, even though the concept was pretty stupid, the cello players for Apolcalytica did an impressive job. Don't get me wrong, I like some classical music but, I bought this album because it was all Metallica songs played on the Cello and I said to myself this has got to be cool and i was right. Metallica's version had already shown that it could work very well with classical instruments, and in that case, we have Master of Puppets cello version. What more can be said except that an already good song is made even better on the cello.

Apocalyptica brings the lifestyle of metal in a classical form to it's audience. fourth one. The song is so upbeat and unbelievably fun to listen to that you will enjoy listening to "Master of Puppets" over and over again, because of the way Metallica original played it. All of them show the excellence of an orchestral Metallica. You may even start to like classical music or at the very least symphonic rock and metal. This is a wonderful album, and whether you're a metalhead or a person that likes classical music or both like I do then you'll really like this album. So give it a listen as I think you'll be surprised as to how good it really is.

The Unforgiven is one of me favorite Metallica songs. I fell that this version is even better than the Metallica S&M version of the song. Yes, that's right. Also James Hetfield's singing has been replaced by a cello. The cover by Apocalyptica makes an already great song even better. In the last 3-4 minutes of the song, you will be engulfed to the beautiful chorus of cellos as they scour the conclusion of the Master of Puppets song. Come on Metallica songs played on nothing but cellos how good can that really be. Enter Sandman This song Enter Sandman is one of Metallica's biggest hits is the first track on this very cool album.

So the concept may sound stupid to some. You may be wondering. This album has some of the best from the many songs of Metallica. Metal music is more like a lifestyle for some, with it's bits and pieces.

Enter Sandman is just one example of what this album has to offer, for even the second one. These guys from Finland can create visions, scenes and pictures only with the help of the sounds from their cellos. Sad But True This song is another one of my favorite Metallica songs. What I mean by silent I mean without any vocals in their musical tales.

They really do a good job on the solos in this song also. Apocalyptica is a Finnish cello metal band, composed of classically trained cellists and, since 2005, a drummer. I've alway like the song Master of Puppets. Nice job on the chorus, but spectacular job on the verse. What really made the song for me is the bowing rhythms they used on the verse.

it's Enter Sandman". Harvester Of Sorrow This song Harvester of Sorrows is yet another example of how cool a cello can make a heavy metal song. The cellos then add their "own" notes to the song to make it sound better with cellos. All of the other instruments are replaced, except for the majority of the drums.

The bass, is now cello. Also please don't confuse Apocalyptica with the String Quartet Tribute series of albums as Apocalyptica is from what i'm told way better. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) This song is another great Metallica song and after listening to this version I still find it hard to believe this is still the same song everyone hears and shouts "Sanitarium." along with. The solo is great though.

Out of nowhere they came and started something totally new. So going in i knew nothing of Apocalyptica. Have You ever thought that Metal isn't only powerfull chords and loud epic vocals. When the frenzy of cellos start, you can't even recognize the song until it freezes at an applaud of cellos and start the "Master of Puppets lyrics" played in cello. So the key purpose of this album is remaking some of Metallica's songs into cello. The loud guitars are replaced by cello. That you wouldn't know was based on heavy metal if you didn't see the title on the album.

Then later, you may totally forget that it's Metallica, and start having a ball listening to a "new" classical song played in an upbeat style. Apocalyptica is certainly one of the pieces and to be true a really unique piece. Wherever I May Roam This song starts soft with pizzicato and just start rocking out. Master Of Puppets This song Master of Puppets is one of the best on here and comes from an album of the same name that many consider to be Metallica's best album ever. The Unforgiven This song is probably the best song on the album. This is one of my favorite songs of Metallica's.And Justice For All album. Creeping Death This song was never a song that i liked very much i had always thought it was ok and i feel that this version makes the original even better. I can recognize this song.

The guys of Apocalyptica with their overwhelming skills bring 'silently' the same mood and emotions to the ears of the listeners as does Metallica. I can say that it impressed me for many reasons. It starts much like the original in that when the first few notes are played you immediately know what song it is. The ever rocking "Master of Puppets", the rather slow yet powerfull "outmentioning Metallica song "the Unforgiven", that just is perfect in every element. The cello players grind into their strings a lot in this song and makes it sound as if the people are sawing their strings off, fortunately though, the cello players succeed in making yet another heavy metal song sound even better on the cellos. James Hetfield and his voice being replaced by a big cello is clearly a big improvement to the whiny tough rough style that Hetfield creates with his voice. Lars Ulrich's drums are replaced by cello. third one.

I truly enjoy this cd,It exposes the "link" between qaulity metal and classical music,AMAZEING

you haven't seen a metal concert till you've seen 3 guys headbanging while playing their cellos. these guys do with 4 instruments what metallica sucked at with an entire orchastra. each cello harbors the melodies that are used by each of the members of metallica, including percussion. if you love classical music, metallica, or rock in general, there is no possible way to go wrong with them.

i met people at the concert who were classicly trained cellists and loved them (the cellists in the band are all classicly trained) and also saw bam margera from jack*ss and a few porn stars. basicly, good times were had by all. parents, grantparents, children. when we went, it was my bf and i, my brothers, and mom, and there were other families there that had 3 generations with them.

this band does go on to do origionals down the line, my favorite being quottmo (i think that's how it's spelled.). it's also a show that you can take the entire family to. you can tell easily exactly what song it is. the closed once with "peter and the wolf" and i was blown away.

they are also a fantastic live show (i've seen them twice, and plan to see them more) that is power packed. for any real metallica fan, the songs, not sure if they are on this specific album (the may be on inquisition symphony) but the quintessential metallica songs, "fade to black" and "nothing else matters" will just about make you cry because they are just so beautiful. which is just gorgeous.

arived on time, and undamagedgood

Not my cup of tea. I was hoping for a little more, but the novelty of 4 cellos playing metallica wears off pretty quickly.
